Reading and writing play such a significant role in your academic and professional success that these areas merit special attention and consideration. Knowing how well you read and write will help you make important decisions about your education and will assist us in advising you - particularly during registration. For this reason, all accepted nursing students are required to take the Nelson-Denny Reading Test and a writing test in composition. Test results will be used to determine your eligibility to take science and nursing classes.

You are asked to come to the lobby of the Wilbur Arts Center 15 minutes before the time of testing with a number 2 pencil. No one will be allowed late entry into the testing room. The exam is timed and lasts approximately 60 minutes. Please be reminded that while the test must be taken prior to your registering, it does not affect your admission to the college. Students must bring an ID with them to the exam.
